A Trip through Spain’s Architectural Customs

Architecture identifies lots about a country’s national heritage; this is why a lot of countries spend so much of their resources in maintaining their architectural structures. Spain is one of those countries that genuinely put much store in protecting their cultural legacy through preserving architectural structures. You’ll find it quite impressive that they’ve even managed to preserve structures that were built many centuries before Christ; most of them can even be judged as well-preserved.

First things first, all the same, when it comes to preparing for a trip to Spain, it’s important that you recognize the things that can make your trip safer and more convenient for you. You’ll need to know where to get the right kind of transportation so you can tour freely; if you prefer to rent a car, that’s fine also, providing you have a map so that you won’t spend too much time finding the right road to take. As a tourist in a foreign country, it’s very important that you are able to at any rate ask about some things which are important for tourists to know like the location of airports, transportation cores and the likes; learning how to speak a little Spanish is easy without charge through websites like Rocket Spanish. Rocket Spanish or Bust can help you learn the Spanish language as it employs various study methods for a very effective learning experience.

Spain’s architecture is something to be accepted; Spain’s commitment to protecting their cultural heritage by preserving old architectural structures is also very excellent. According to carbon dating, these structures were built during the Bronze Age; based on the condition of the funeral chambers; you can see how the government is very involved in enthusiastically preserving such national treasures. The walled villages in Avila and Santa Tecla also show that there was already some kind of way or street system in place during that time; structures in these places are globular in shape and made of stone walls with thatched roofs on top of them and a prop in the middle to sustain the thatched roof.

Such as, during the time when Rome was conquering nations left and right and was hell bent on taking over the world, naturally the architectural trends in Spain was greatly affected. More churches like the temples of Cordoba and Talavera la Vieja were erected; the way people constructed vaults, burial chambers, and other places for the dead have also transformed. There were also changes in the kinds of structures being erected during those times; more religious structures were made, and this was the start of the construction of many opulent churches in Spain.

After the rise of Romanesque architecture, Spain’s architectural trend transitioned to a more Gothic style, similar to the design used in building the Cathedral of Avila. The Cathedral of Avila is one such structure, with Roman, French, and German inspirations. The cathedral has certain influences taken from French and German styles of buildings.

There are many things that you can ascertain about a country’s history by looking at the many different types of architectural structures that it has. It’s quite interesting how much you can discover of a country’s history just by looking at the trend of architectural designs around their countryside.
