Kindle Azw File Format
A couple questions about the Amazon Kindle (3rdGen)?
I’m planning to buy the Kindle in a couple of days. I was mostly purchasing it to read pdf sheet music and novels that I had on my computer. How do they look on the Kindle 3rd generation?
Do the document look better if converted to the .azw format? (What are the benefits?)
If you’ve tried, how do jpeg pictures look on the Kindle?
I’ve heard that you could only transfer files if they are in .azw format with a usb connection. Is that true?
Thanks!
I’ve only downloaded one .pdf document on my Kindle. It’s not a very satisfying way to read a .pdf.
It does not display jpegs, unless you email them to your Kindle Device. When you do that, there is a small charge, and Amazon will convert the jpeg to Amazon’s Kindle format file.
When connecting with a USB cable, the Kindle looks like just another USB storage device to the PC. You can upload whatever you want into it. I’ve uploaded that .pdf I mentioned, plus some mp3s.
