IPad, The Kindle Killer, Has Become Accessible At Amazon
After showing Amazon how to properly make and market a tablet, Apple has become making the iPad available at the birthplace of Kindle . Apple made Amazon its first outside online retailer for the iPad shortly after launching the tablet at Target stores the week before. The arrangement is a win-win situation for Amazon and Apple based on analysts who say the iPad has established an unassailable position in the tablet PC market.
E-book business shoots for Amazon using the Kindle Killer
Amazon is carrying all six models of Apple’s iPad. Lauren Indvik at Mashable said that although it seems counter-intuitive for Amazon to carry a product dubbed the Kindle Killer, it makes good financial sense. Indvik writes that Amazon’s e-books strategy is based on selling e-books, not e-readers. The company has created a Kindle app for iPad that works much better and has more inventory than Apple’s iBooks app. Amazon’s e-book business gets stronger with iPad’s that are selling.
iPad murders getting some not so good news now
Apple’s iPad has been selling like hotcakes at Apple’s retail stores, the online Apple Store and at Best Buy. Amazon making the iPad available probably upsets RIM, and other companies like it. RIM has marketed its PlayBook as the iPad killer recently. Fortune heard from Deutsche Bank’s Chris Whitmore who said that competitor merchandise will “fall flat” with the information. The iPad is ahead of its competition be two or more years in media acquisition and integration while it is about 18 months ahead in content, says Whitmore. It seems like Apple has the growing advantage when it comes to tablet usage and customers buying that.
Why many purchase the iPad first
Darcy Travios at Forbes explains that more people will go to the iPad with all the confusion customers have with the rivals working on price. It occurred before with the iPod, which nevertheless has an industry share of more than 70 percent. Memory, storage and screen size are examples of things competitors work on while, claims Travios, Apple nevertheless makes sure the consumer experience is a good one. People are willing to pay more for ease of use, simplicity and elegance. Apple’s iPad will lead the market because brand loyalty means anything.
