The Kindle DX is Amazon’s latest digital book reader, a larger and thinner reading device than the original Kindle. Weighing less than a pound, the Kindle DX is is slightly more than a third of an inch thick. That’s thinner than an average magazine! Able to store up to 3,500 books, which is more than some libraries, the Kindle DX ereader will fool you with its delicate size.

This feature is offered without a required contract or membership fee. Amazon offers it as part of the Kindle DX service.
The Kindle DX has a large screen (9.7″ diagonally), designed to look like you are reading paper, but it’s a paper with adjustable text size and a long battery life. Battery life translates to 4 days straight if you are reading and accessing the network, and you get two weeks straight if you just read.
The e-ink used by the DX provides 16 shades of gray, to make both text and images visually clear and sharp. The Kindle DX gives you several unique features that a lot of other ebook readers do not have. This new ereader also features a text-to-speech component, which gives you the ability to listen while the Kindle reads aloud from books, magazines, blogs, or newspapers. You can also sample books before purchasing as the first chapter of many books is available for free.
The Kindle DX comes with a keyboard, so you can type in the names of books you are looking for or make notations on your reading materials. This makes it a simple matter to edit and manage your notes, manipulate text that captures your interest, or just mark pages you especially enjoy for later study. Perhaps the Kindle DX’s most outstanding feature is the fact that it automatically remembers the point where you left off reading, and opens to the same spot when you are ready to continue.
