Sean weatherspoon or Sergio Kindle??????
i am an atlanta fan and when atlanta was goin 2 pick in the first round and sergio kindle was still on the board i thought we were gooin to get him but instead we got weatherspoon……..i am a texas longhorns fan and after watchin kindle play in texas i thought we were goin 2 get him bc he is a good pass rusher and he can play OLB/DE and tthats what altanta needed but i hav heard that weatherspoon was a better linebacker overall and that he would fit in our system better

Weatherspoon is a classic 4-3 OLB. Solid build, extremely strong, decent speed, good lateral movement, and a very fast burst.
Kindle at one time was billed to be a unique type LB with the ability and skills to play OLB in the 4-3 or 3-4 and possibly DE in either. To be frank, while his combine was considered a success by many in the media, his skills kept him out of the first round. His 40 time was lower than expected by scouts and his agility drills showed he was not fit for OLB in a 4-3 defense. At present he lacks the strength to play DE on an every down basis but can make an immediate impact in situational pass rushes from that position. Early in his career he can be a good OLB in a 3-4, even though his lack of mobility will hurt him covering good receivers out of the backfield along with most TE’s.
Will probably take Kindle 2-3 years to really develop into what most think he can be while Weatherspoon merely needs to learn the defense and get a little seasoning.
