my doe is pregnant?
hi im back to pick ya brains , i have a doe everytime shes kindling she builds a woodchip nest ! scatters the babies once i ignored her constant attack and put them together covered them ect but they died why wont she build a proper nest shes 8 months my other does do there thing nicely ,if she does it this time time il have her spayed and move her with my retired bunnys i just wondered if anyone nos why shes doin it or wot i can do to help her its not freezing here nippy but not cold shes due the week spring starts she hasnt started building yet but is defo pregnant please help thanx !
Only give her proper nesting material. Don’t put woodchips in at all. Maybe line the cage with newpaper instead, and give her plenty of hay to make a nest with. Also, be sure she has a nice, large area to keep the babies in. You can build the nest for her if she won’t make one, and just lay the babies in there after they are born.
Some rabbits just aren’t good mothers and it’s better to spay them, or hand-raise all the babies.
