Kindle Insurance
Will I get a better deal on an Amazon Kindle if i wait until Cyber Monday?
I really want an Amazon Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002Y27P3M/ref=btech_kindle_wifi) because I love to read for personal enjoyment, plus as a teacher, I wouldn’t have to lug around my educational textbooks anymore. A lot of them are available digitally.
However, my sister says i should wait until Cyber Monday, that I’ll get a really good deal on it. Cyber Monday is almost two weeks away.
My boyfriend said the new Kindle DX will probably be cheaper, but not the latest generation kindle that I want (which is currently $139, but it’ll come to like $200 once I get the insurance and pay taxes).
What do you all think?
Amazon doesn’t lower the prices of any Kindle for Black Friday or for Cyber Monday. Some retail stores might have bundle deals but they won’t have the Kindles on sale. If you buy from a retail store, you’ll pay sales tax but if you buy from Amazon, you’ll only pay sales tax if you live in a state where Amazon has a physical presence. You can also get free shipping from Amazon, just so you know. What you’re referring to as insurance is an extended service plan which isn’t worth what it will cost from a retail store. Amazon’s warranty is one year but they do also sell extended coverage and so does a third party company called Square Trade which often has discount codes that you’ll find on the Kindle user forum.
