Should I get a Kindle?

I am considering getting an amazon Kindle. I have a deep interest in reading and have a collection of eBooks on my computer under .pdf or .doc formats which I’m getting tired of printing. I often read large books and read on the go too, so it’s been really appealing to me lately. But what’s really stopping me is that I feel it demeans the value of the book – I’m not a book collector but I’ve always been attracted to a shelf full of someone’s reads over them just having a kindle or iPad on their bedside. This is really what’s in the way, but it’s also the only thing stopping me. Should I get a Kindle? or stick to the old fashioned books?

I’ve got book cases full of books, but I’m always on the move and I find the kindle a great bit of technology. It doesn’t have to be ether / or.
