How good is the Amazon Kindle’s PDF reader?

I am considering buying an Amazon Kindle. I know it has a built in PDF reader. I just want to know how capable this PDF reader is.

I am engineering student and have a lot of textbooks (in native PDF format) that have a lot of mathematical symbols, equations, graphs, matrices, etc.

Can the Kindle show these in full detail?

Another thing: I sometimes scan books/notes into my computer. If I convert these images to PDF format, can the Kindle still display it?

Note: the textbooks are not scanned, and are real PDF files.

Any PDF files that display correctly on your computer will get displayed properly in Kindle.
Equations, graphs, matrices, etc.., will get displayed properly in kindle. No need to worry about it.

All “real” PDF files will be displayed as it is .
