Should I get a Kindle?

I love to read books. I also love to have these books in my collection. The Kindle would be easier to take with me places, especially on trips. However I feel like I would be lending a hand in destroying small businesses. What I mean, is if these things catch on big time( I know they are very popular already) how are small book stores going to be able to survive? I could live with not having every book I have ever read in my physical collection, but I dont know about the other point.( Think about dvd players and vcrs) So I guess it’s just more of a moral dilemma. Has anyone else felt like this and have bought one and now feel differently? Only serios answers please!

Hello, I personally think Kindles are great. All the pros you listed are true plus many more. The moral question I think I can address. I am not bashing your idea as I feel the same way, but I think that unless you are joining an anti Kindle support group, you buying a Kindle is not going to really contribute at all to the losing battle of traditional books.

I do not, however, think that paper book will go completely out. People still like to buy their favorite books or encycolopedias, dictionaries, etc. Also, physically, libraries need paper books.
