Kindle Special Offers Jailbreak

Is it safe to jailbreak my Kindle?

I just got a Kindle 3 Wi-Fi with special offers (should have spent more for the one without the irritating offers) and I, like everyone else I’ve heard about, want my own pics as screensavers. I found the jailbreak files and I know I can do it, but I don’t want to mess up my Kindle, I was hoping there may be someone out there who’s done it before and could tell me if it’s safe or if it will screw it up. Or, I’m sure there are at least a few different sites out there with jailbreak files, maybe someone could suggest one that they know is safe? I’d really appreciate any help/advice.
Ok, so I’m taking it back to Best Buy this morning and getting the next most expensive, the one without the annoying special offers. Dunno if that makes a difference, but read that you can’t jailbreak the special offers one.

Define safe. It’s a warranty voiding procedure. Yes, you can brick just about any device you are jailbraking or rooting. It’s a proceed at your own peril kind of thing. Is it worth the risk is what you have to ask yourself. I’ve jailbroken and rooted all my devices and been happy with them thus far.
