On a lighter note: shhhh, the chrysalid is about to open (Pagans?)?

For over a week I’ve had a monarch butterfly chrysalid dangling from a dead branch I stored near the front door for kindling (during the winter).

All week the chrysalid has hung there, jade green with spots of gold in a line near the ‘zipper’

This morning I’ve noticed thatthe green is gone and the chrysalid is clear. I can see the colours of the butterfly’s wings.

Having watched one hatch last year, I know we are approaching the moment where the monarch climbs forth and spreads his wings to join his fellow butterflies and brighten the world.

Aside from honouring this tiny life form with respect and protection, is there something else you would do to celebrate this upcoming moment?

While I am at it, I will also mention my white clover is about six feet tall now, and the honey bees are more abundant than I ever recall.

I even walked amongst them without being harmed.

What would you suggest to enhance the experience?

This experience is so beautiful it almost needs no More. However, if you you feel the need to celebrate this new life then think of how you like to celebrate life yourself. Stand among the honey bees and feel the energy of their flight. watch as the monarch is reborn and consider ways that your life can start a new. The Gods/Goddesses are giving you the message that there is still beauty in life if your willing to look. Walk through the forest and search for other signs of life both old and new. Celebrate the world you live in and the beauty of the Goddess in all her forms.
Light a great fire and dance round it skyclad. Listen to the music of nature. Invite the faeries to dance with you. Draw a picture of your new friend about to come to life using all the colours. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to remind you of the events around you. Write a poem to celebrate! Anything to make sure this time will always be with you.
